At B M Institute of Mental Health, Children, adolescents and adults are accepted for assessment, evaluation and testing for psychological, educational, developmental, psychiatric and language related difficulties. Intervention and therapies are given to people in need.

The institute plays a vital role in the well being of anyone and everyone in need. Different therapy modules have been defined at the campus through which the faculties here serve the agonized with the most pertinent intervention and management plan. Multidisciplinary approach of assessment and intervention is practiced here.

OPD being the heart of the mental healthcare system further divides into a vast range of multi disciplinary units based on the need required by the agonized.

OPD You enter a hub of multiple solutions based on interventions and therapies for every kind of issue related to mental wellbeing and disability at the OPD (Out Patient Department). The individual arriving at the OPD is assessed and diagnosed in detail by professionally qualified experts. Based on the reports or findings achieved an entire intervention and management is designed for the rehabilitation. Multidisciplinary intervention and therapy units have been established at the institute for this.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY: Occupational therapy unit provides a psychologically relevant program for the training and rehabilitation of the physically, mentally and emotionally challenged person-child, adolescent and adult. Sensory Integration Therapy is also provided to children with sensory processing issues under close supervision of qualified professionals.

SPEECH THERAPY: Speech and audiology clinic services all age groups. It provides a differential diagnosis and therapy for individuals who have speech and language difficulties.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING: Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology is an important part of the assessment, diagnostic and rehabilitation work for various emotional, psychological, psycho-educational and psycho-social issues. Need based intervention and counseling services are provided to all sections of society across all age group.

PSYCHOTHERAPY: Psychotherapeutic services are provided to people of all age groups having emotional, psycho-educational, psycho-social, psychotic or neurotic difficulties.

GENETIC COUNSELLING: Genetic counseling is provided to people at risk of genetic difficulties as well as others for common awareness during planning a family. A team of qualified professionals offer guidance and counseling for the problem identification and further investigation in case of need.

COGNITIVE SIMULATION AND TRAINING: The Cognitive simulation and training segment deals majorly with improvisation of brain functioning. Experts and professionals work on development of the children and adults who are facing difficulty in proper utilization of memory, thinking skills, and other cognitive aspects of brain that genuinely affect the quality of their lives.

REMEDIAL TEACHING AND SPECIAL EDUCATION: Special Education Programme/ Individual Education Programme is designed to accelerate learning and adaptive skills in a way that it helps the students who are diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, other learning difficulties or for those who are socially or emotionally delayed. This category signifies an aspect of the child's overall development (physical, cognitive, scholastic skills) which places them behind their peers. Specifically designed educational program and resources are provided to children with additional needs for upgrading their mental stability and development.

ART THERAPY: Art Therapy is a form of therapy to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. It is a creative process that helps people with emotional/psychological/social difficulties to resolve conflicts, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress and increase self-esteem and self-awareness.

BEHAVIOUR THERAPY: This therapy deals with developing an individual’s state of mind that procures a positive perspective at every situation. The techniques used during behavioral therapy are conducted by qualified psychologist. Behavioral therapy can benefit people with a wide range of disorders. People most commonly seek behavioral therapy to treat depression, anxiety, panic disorders and anger issues along with post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, phobias (including social phobias), obsessive compulsive disorder, self harm, substance abuse, etc.

DIET COUNSELING Diet is considered to be one of the primary aspects responsible for a good mental wellbeing. At the institute, diet consultation and need based diet counseling is provided to people with mental instability, emotional disturbances and disabling conditions to aid the rehabilitation process.

NEURO DEVELOPMENT THERAPY: Neuro-developmental therapy is a program which aims at promoting the development and functioning of the nervous system and the inhibition of primitive reflexes. By incorporating movements which are used naturally by a baby and a young child, the nervous system is gently encouraged to mature and become more open to learning. Each program is specifically designed for the needs of each child which evolves eventually.

MOVEMENT THERAPY: Dance Movement Therapy provided at the institute is based upon interaction of body-mind-spirit. It helps to channelize conscious and subconscious movements of a person. Therapeutic use of movement assists in development and functioning of cognitive, emotional, physical and social skills of a person. It is helpful in developing and functioning of Memory, Reasoning, Perception, Imagination and Decision Making.
